“Anything you can do, I can do better, I can do anything better than you!”

If this is your motto, you’re either starring in a revival of Broadway’s Annie Get Your Gun, or you’re pretty competitive. Either way, we’re impressed. If it’s the latter, you probably want to do everything better than everyone, including (and most importantly) your competitors. We know the feeling, as we’re always striving to create content that is better and more engaging than our competitors’. Want to know how we do this? Follow along:

1. Make It Catchy

Make It Catchy
Just like the previously mentioned tune, any good content is going to be catchy. This means making sure your copy is short, sweet, and snappy. As the world has become increasingly mobile, the average attention span has dropped to just around 8 seconds. So be sure to make your copy catchy!

2. Make It Pretty

Always, always, always add a graphic element. Video, image, infographic – whichever fits best with your content, as long as it’s high quality. Images will make your content stand out amongst your competitors.

3. MakeItShorter

It’s all about the bit.ly’s, baby! Long URLs can make your posts look spammy. Shorten your links by using programs like bit.ly. Bonus points if you customize the link to apply to your post http://bit.ly/SocialflyRULES

4. Make It Relevant

Make It Relevant
There’s no use posting amazing content if it isn’t going to reach the right audience. Do your research, find out who your target market is, and always boost your posts to that audience. (We better not catch you targeting grandmas with your memes!)

Next time you plan on creating content, follow these four simple rules and your content will be the best in the business. If you’re stumped, check out what your competitors are doing, and see how you can do it better. Lastly, be sure to stay on top of the Socialfly social media pages, because we’re always striving to create the best content possible!
