A little birdie told us that the next “Twitter for iPhone” app will come with a few new surprises.

Rumor has it that Twitter is preparing to develop a new version of its iPhone app.  This update will include an experience that is more interactive for tweeters.  Not only will you be able to see previews of content, but also you will have the ability to choose whether or not you would like to receive push notifications when certain people tweet.

Is there an event you would love for Twitter to remind you of when you look at your timeline?  Well, another update will be highlighted tweets about selected events.  There will also be an auto-complete in the Connect tab and tapping on a fellow tweeter’s avatar will bring you right to their profile page.

Although we do not know when this update will occur and if all of these features are set in stone, we at CMG look forward to what’s to come!
