  1. Last month, Instagram rolled out a new feature that lets users know when “they’re all caught up” on content in their feed. As a complement to this feature, Instagram is currently testing a feature where you’ll see recommended posts, once you’ve seen everything new in your feed. When you see the “Recommended For You” message, you’ll have the option to view your past posts or keep scrolling for your recommendations.
  2. Video content continues to deliver results and sees the best response across all social platforms. Facebook’s Creative Shop team has put together a new process which enables advertisers to convert still images to video in their ads. Facebook listed four ways the new process can be used that range from animating one to two elements of an image to bring your brand’s logo to life.

  3. Not a surprising update here, but after Instagram began rolling out story highlights to all users, now Facebook is planning on doing the same on the platform. The highlights option provides another way to re-use your Facebook Stories content, showcasing the best of your Stories directly on your profile for an indefinite period. The popularity of features like highlights and archive show a shift in user behavior which could be a large factor in the decline of Snapchat.
