At Socialfly, we celebrate every work week by playing office tunes every Friday, supplied by the resident office DJ–myself [Amber] and of course, a premium Spotify subscription. We’ve found that playing music in the office results in a collaborative work environment (inspired by the likes of Frank Ocean and Drake), and puts a general beat in everyone’s step that gets us pumped up for the weekend.

In a New York Times article, Teresa Lesiuk, an assistant professor in the music therapy program at the University of Miami, shared that she “found that those who listened to music completed their tasks more quickly and came up with better ideas than those who didn’t because the music improved their mood.” In other words, putting yourself in a creative environment improves the creativity and productivity of your work.

In addition to productivity, music has the ability to boost the mood of your office. webpageFX.com recently shared an infographic that shows that 77% of both small and medium-sized business owners agree that music increases their company morale.
